When my son entered the traditional school system (at only 3 years old), I watched the spark in his eyes slowly fade. He stopped asking questions. He did what he was told —quietly, obediently— and part of him started to disappear.
As a psychologist with over a decade in international education policy, I was stunned. I thought I understood how learning worked. But it took my own child’s silence to open my eyes.
So I got curious. And what I realized was simple, but life-changing: I didn’t want a system that trained him to comply. I wanted a space where his curiosity, creativity, and love of learning could thrive. A school where joy, autonomy, and purpose weren’t the exception, they were the foundation.
That place existed… just not here. So I decided to build it and joined the Acton Academy revolution.

Education Week (2016): ‘Micro Schools’ Could Be New Competition for Private K-12
The one-room schoolhouse, that symbol of rural American education that dates back to the earliest days of the Colonial era, might be on the verge of making a comeback. But among the earliest micro schools in the country is Acton Academy in Austin, Texas.
Acton Academy affiliates are benefiting from the surge in interest in microschools that began several years ago and has increased since the onset of the pandemic. They are also tapping in to growing demand by parents for private schooling options.

Official National Certificates
All Pumas at Tinkuy Marka are officially registered in the Ministry of Education’s enrollment system (SIAGIE) through our partnership with Colegio PEAD Unidos. Every learner, starting in Kindergarten, is enrolled in PEAD Unidos, which makes SIAGIE registration possible.
PEAD enrollment is free through Grade 5. After that, families can opt out or continue with the annual registration fee (about S/750 in 2026).
PEAD can issue official certificates at any time upon a family’s request, for a small fee.
International Certification
Tinkuy also offers international certification options based on each family’s goals, including US transcripts through our IALDS accreditation (accepted by most colleges and universities in the US and worldwide), and K–12 high school certificates recognized internationally.
Some pathways also offer direct admission to selected colleges, universities, and institutes in Wisconsin, US.
